Pixel Skin Resurfacing
What is Pixel

A new FDA approval laser device designed to improve the quality and texture of the skin while it stimulates collagen regeneration. This safe and effective treatment represents the best of both worlds for skin resurfacing. It combines the proven effectiveness of an ablative approach the patient comfort level and convenience of a non-ablative approach.

Why is Pixel preferred?

The Pixel module delivers results equal to ablative lasers but it eliminates possible side effects of ablative treatments. It also can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands, a much wider scope than the traditional technologies.

What conditions will the Pixel help improve?

Pixel is for the treatment of wrinkles, scars including acne scars, superficial skin lesions and skin resurfacing.

Since this is an Erbium laser, patents with more moisture in their skin experience more sensation and greater results in few treatments. Therefore, a patient with dry skin may require more treatments.

What can patients expect?

Patients will find the skin around the treatment area feeling firmer with a smoother texture. They will not need pain mediation and can return to work immediately after the treatment.

What is the downtime?

There is relatively no down time. Redness may occur for a few days and flaking for one or two days with full recovery in five days. There is little or no pain during the treatment.

Most commonly, patients feel some slight warmth with the pulse of the laser. Patients experience a mild sunburn sensation afterward (3 to 4 hours) that easily neutralized with a gentle moisture. Make-up can be applied immediately afterward. How many treatments are necessary? Skin resurfacing with the Pixel is a gradual process that happens over several treatments, usually 3-5 sessions at 2-4 week intervals.
